Rain Drops keep falling on my head

We have entered the rainy season in the desert! About 3 or 4 days ago was the first rain that I have seen since we have been in Kuwait. Now when I say rain, its probably not what you are thinking, its more like sprinkles. I need sit outside and watch an awesome lightning storm in the distance the other day, it was beauitful. Last night I was laying in bed and it was actually hailing. It sounded like it was going to bust through our metal roof. When I got up this morning it seemed like rain, ahh. I normally hate rain back home! The things you grow to apperciate when you are stuck in the asshole of the earth. On another note my wonderful roommate, Amy, has returned from her R&R trip to Germany, so now I won't be lonely when i go home tonight! Very soon is my turn to go home and I can't wait. I am literally counting down the days (really I have each day numbered on my calendar)!

Your page is awesome. Ran across it as I was goggling Anthrax shot. I am about to apply to the Air Force as a captain (clinical psychologist) and wanted to research the drug. How is your health since receiving the series of shots?

On Friday we had a three mile road march with our IBA and Weapons. Luckily it wasn't timed and we didn't have to do it in formation. I am the second shortest person in the unit, so I have really small strides. It took me an hour and 20 minutes to finish. I just took my time. Normally on the PT test I walk 2.5 miles in 35 minutes. But I was in no rush to finish with a 17 pound vest and 8 pound weapon. To top off the day we got anthrax shots. It was my first one in a series on 6 shots. Let me tell you it feels like they are trying to kill me or something! The actual shot didn't hurt, I could barely feel the need go in. about 20 seconds after I got the shot my arm felt like it was on fire! The M2 .50 Caliber Machine Gun

Yeah I did it. Today I got to learn to break down, put together and Engage targets with the M2 50 Caliber Machine Gun (nicknamed the Ma Deuce). These weapons are usually the ones you'll see mounted on a HUMVEE during convoys in the desert. Again this was mt first time, seeing, touching and firing this weapon. Let me give you some background. It Weighs 84 pounds (I'm 112), It's 65 inches long (I'm 61.5 inches). So I thought the charging handle on the M249 was bad, this was worse. I had to put both feet on the tripod and pull back the charging handle with both hands and that was still a struggle. Taking it a part wasn't many steps, but the bolt was heavy and you had to use a lot of strength to put the spring back in. So when I finally got to the simulator to fire it, I had pretty tight shot groups, but my contacts kept moving around in my eyes and they got so blurry at the end that I couldn't see the targets. I got a chance to get some spinning done this past weekend. It's been so long I actually finished 9 yarns in a week!! I also have a new favorite spinning technique. Skinny corespun thread plied.
