Ice skating

Bob and I took Emma ice skating for the first time. I even went and bought her, her only little skates before hand. Bob is a hockey player so he was very helpful to Emma, although she insisted she didn't need any!

Anthrax shots suck!

On Friday we had a three mile road march with our IBA and Weapons. Luckily it wasn't timed and we didn't have to do it in formation. I am the second shortest person in the unit, so I have really small strides. It took me an hour and 20 minutes to finish. I just took my time. Normally on the PT test I walk 2.5 miles in 35 minutes. But I was in no rush to finish with a 17 pound vest and 8 pound weapon. To top off the day we got anthrax shots. It was my first one in a series on 6 shots. Let me tell you it feels like they are trying to kill me or something! The actual shot didn't hurt, I could barely feel the need go in. about 20 seconds after I got the shot my arm felt like it was on fire! That only lasted for about 2 minutes and then I was good to go, until yesterday. I looked at the spot where I got the shot and it is a huge bump and red spot there. It is also really sore. How I made my daughter a weeping angel costume

My ten year old daughter has been in love with everything Dr. Who for the past year.  So naturally she wanted to be a character from the show for Halloween.  Of course she had  to pick a costume that no one makes.  I take that back I found two on Etsy for $300 in adult sizes.  Yeah that wasn't happening. But I'm crafty so I had to figure out a way to put this costume together.     The Mask         Luckily I was able to find one weeping angel mask on amazon for $15, so I bought that and spray painted it grey to match the rest of the costume.                                        The Wings   I found some wings that weren't like the normal feathery wings and spray painted those with gray spr...

Emma's Calorimetry

I made a Calorimetry for my daughter in November when I was home on leave out of some Patons SWS Wool. She loves it but said it was to itchy. She has very sensitive skin and she asked if I could make one out of soft yarn. How can I say no to someone that says they LOVE everything I knit because it is made with my love in it?!? I had some extra Bernat Bamboo yarn lying around, in pink of course so I made her another. Here is a picture of her wearing it.
